Beds Direct

We've been called on to build spaceships, cars, planes and to design aliens and characters, to make spectacular explosions and special effects but never, I repeat NEVER have we been called on to make BEDS FLY!

Until now...

We were asked to go along  with the director to fly around in a helicopter to get some nice ariel footage to use as the backdrop for the computer graphics.

We start the animation with a full screen of a radar blipping away with the classic Biggles voice over the radio and Dambusters type music.

The voice-over asks "How do we get our beds to you so fast" Cut to footage of the shop with a bed outside just taking off.

Classic huh?

We had rocket beds, heli-beds, balloon beds, hang-glider beds and even a hot rod bed (final frame).

We thought it would be a little flat with simple wings so we designed a completely retractable rotor-blade system for this little baby (lead-free too!)

Yes, well... if your gonna make a bed fly over water then you just have to get the reflection right, now think about it, how do you get something thats not really there to reflect in the water ?

This is one of my favorite shots, as the animation draws to a close we get a nice ariel view of all the houses and a glider bed coming in to land.

And with a screech of the brakes, the hot-rod bed pulls up outside the house And Yes !... The cats head DOES turn to watch the car pull up... Ok, ok, That was just Luck but...thats how they get the beds there so fast !

Its true !... Honest...
